Let the games begin. Billboard.biz's Antony Bruno just reported that Facebook has been in contact with some record labels about a proposed music service that would rival the planned service at MySpace. No timeline is given and Bruno says meetings will take place this week.

Facebook now allows bands to create pages at the site. I've seen only a few band's Facebook pages, and I think they do some things better than MySpace (except there's no volume control on music streams). Facebook music pages have one very good thing going for them: they are accessible without logging in, although Google searches can be a bit hit and miss at this early stage.
