MAMA Group has acquired the Heaven nightclub in England. MAMA owns a number of British music venues, such as the Hammersmith Apollo and the Barfly network of venues, and Stephen Budd Management, and has interests in music publishing, recorded music and merchandise. (Music Week)

• There's a report that Google's Android mobile platform will have an Amazon.com music and video store application. (VentureBeat) Update: Here's the press release from Amazon.com to confirm it.

• A Strategy Analytics report paints a fairly good picture for Nokia's Comes With Music service. "There are some key unanswered questions and challenges to overcome, but our survey data shows clear latent demand for such an offering. 84% of respondents were willing to pay for a service such as 'Comes with Music'." • AEG is talking to Los Angeles-area stations about its idea to televise -- on either a digital multicast channel or online -- some events at the Staples Center and Nokia Theater (both part of its LA Live development in downtown Los Angeles). The programming would be part of a larger plan to create a lifestyle channel that features music, fashion, sports and travel. (Variety)

• Proving her lackluster tenure at Virgin was no fluke, Janet Jackson and Island Def Jam have parted ways at Jackson's request. Now comes, according to a Jackson statement, "autonomy over her career." (Billboard.biz)

• The RIAA has company. Activision Blizzard has been actively suing individuals for the unauthorized distribution of its games. (PC Magazine)

• FCC Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein on the need for a national broadband strategy. "In an age when traditional media markets are dominated by a handful of giant conglomerates, we have optimism about broadband. There is a sense it can restore decentralized, locally rooted, and entrepreneurial voices to the media landscape that are reflective of the best aspects of American media before consolidation."
