• Chrysalis Group announced it has received "tentative approaches" from a number of companies interested in acquiring the publishing group. Said the company in a statement, "“Such discussions are at a very preliminary stage, and there can be no certainty that any offer or transaction will be made, nor the terms on which any offer or transaction would be made." The company put itself up for sale in December of last year. In January there were reports that EMI and Warner Music Group had both bid on Chrysalis. A bid by EMI in rejected in April. (Music Week)

• Album sales were up 1.3% over the previous week but were down 25% versus the same week last year. (Billboard.biz)

• AEG Live has partnered with the online social community to create the AEG Live Mansion, a place where fans can stream music, play videos, buy concert tickets and, most importantly, dress up their avatars in band merch. (Billboard.biz)

• There are reports that Jay-Z has started a new label, called StarRoc, with European producers Stargate. (BallerStatus)

• Here's a pic of a couple of MySpace Music ads in Times Square in New York. The Jonas Brothers ad says "Songs We Can Agree On" and the Lil Wayne ad says "Beats That Stick With Me." (Rolling Stone)
