• Sugarland's Love on the Inside dropped 47% last week and tops the album chart with second-week sales of 171,000. Miley Cyrus' Breakout dropped 56% decrease to 163,000 units. At 7.35 million units, album sales were down 11.1% versus last year. (Billboard.biz)

• Universal has secured the new Miley Cyrus album, Breakout, for release in Europe. (Music Week)

• A good review of $10 lawn seats at a Live Nation amphitheater show in Virgina. (Roanoke Times)

• Madison Square Garden Entertainment signed a multi-year co-booking arrangement with the Citi Performing Arts Center in Boston, which includes the 3,600 seat Wang Theatre. "...the plan is to book MSG venues in tandem, including the Beacon Theater in New York (acquired last year), Radio City Music Hall, the WaMu Theatre, the Chicago Theater (acquired this year) and now the Wang Theater." • John Simson, executive director of SoundExchange and a member of the musicFIRST Coalition, has an opinion piece in today's San Jose Mercury News. "As the performance right legislation moves toward consideration in the full U.S. House of Representatives, we are asking for the citizens of California, (San Jose Rep. Zoe) Lofgren and others in Congress to support performers and great American music by closing the corporate radio loophole." Lofgren has spoken out against performance royalties and supports changes in royalties paid by Internet radio. (Mercury News)
