• Arbitron has released some preliminary results from RADAR 97. It says U.S. radio has 235 million listeners every week, and the format reaches 95% of Black Non-Hispanics and 96% of Hispanics age 25-54 each week. (Radio Ink)

• Starting July 1, consumers in Spain will pay a tax on electronic devices that are able to record, copy or store sound or images. The tax is meant to compensate content creators for the personal copying done by the devices. (Billboard.biz)

• Live Nation is putting together a three-day music festival in Fort Lauderdale to be held next spring. (Miami Herald)

• Amazon.com will launch an MP3 download store in the UK before October. (Brand Republic)

• A profile of Martin Bandier and Sony/ATV Music Publishing. One interesting tidbit near the end of the article: Sony/ATV and Apple Corp. "are closing in on a multi-million dollar deal to create a Beatles-themed video game." Reports this morning say the game company is Activision. (Financial Times)
