• The WaPo's J. Freedom du Lac profiles Bob Lefsetz. "Lefsetz is something like Jim Cramer with a country-music obsession and a distaste for the synthetic drums of Top 40 pop. Basically, he comes off as kind of a nut. Yet his acumen draws readers who include some of the most powerful figures in the music business." For whatever odd reasons. (Washington Post)

• BMI expects revenue from U.S. ringback tones will grow 50% in 2008. I'll be five bucks that'll be a short-lived growth spurt. Ringtones, on the other hand, are expected to drop 7%. (Billboard.biz)

• Comcast will lift its ban on torrent traffic and will team up with BitTorrent Inc. to find traffic-easing solutions. (TorrentFreak)

• A profile on Borders' hybrid stores that feature a digital center with such services as CD burning and downloading, personal publishing, digital audiobook downloading and genealogy services.
