Music GroupsDigital Music Sales Up. Way Up.
It was all over the news yesterday, and even Matt Drudge gave the story a link (pictured). The IFPI announced via press release that global digital music sales tripled in the first half of 2005.
Other stats:
• Global music sales dropped 1.9%
• Digital sales are being driven by the US, Japan, UK, Germany and France.
• Digital sales now account for 6% of total record industry sales.
